Mark Leigh Bouris AM was born on November 30, 1956, in Punchbowl, New South Wales. He is of Greek descent on his father’s side and Irish-Australian on his mother’s side. In 1996, Bouris founded Wizard Home Loans, which quickly became Australia’s second-largest non-bank mortgage lender. The company gained significant traction and was sold to GE Money in 2004 for A$500 million. However, during the 2007-2008 financial crisis, Wizard was sold again, this time to Aussie Home Loans, for a fraction of its original sale price.
In 2007, he established Yellow Brick Road, a financial services company that offers wealth management, home loans, and financial advice. As chairman, Bouris has focused on making quality financial advice accessible to all Australians. He also served as chairman of TZ Limited and held non-executive roles with Anteo Diagnostics and Serena Resources Limited, emphasizing his diverse business interests.
