Early Career

Adam D’Angelo’s journey into the tech world began with Synapse, a music recommendation software he developed while at Phillips Exeter Academy. Synapse’s success led to its acquisition by Microsoft, which inspired D’Angelo to further his education in computer science. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the California Institute of Technology and became an integral part of Mark Zuckerberg team, helping to form the initial Facebook. He served as Facebook’s Chief Technology Officer until he left in 2008.

Founding Quora

After departing Facebook, D’Angelo and fellow Facebook employee Charlie Cheever moved to Mountain View, California, to start Quora, an online platform where users can ask and answer questions. Quora has attracted notable personalities from various fields, including Hollywood stars like Ashton Kutcher and public figures like Justin Trudeau, alongside tech giants such as Mark Zuckerberg, Jimmy Wales, Marc Andreessen, Fred Wilson, and Steve Case.
